SOEA held its annual Fall Conference at UCO on Saturday October 3. We had 110 participants.
Great professional development opportunities were offered in six breakout sessions including: True Colors, NEA Member Benefits, Grants & Other Opportunities for Educators, Inclusive Practices: Supporting ALL Students in Their Learning, The Five Components of Reading, and Classroom Management. Lunch was provided by the Oklahoma Educators Credit Union. Dr. James Machell, the Dean of the College of Education and Professional Studies at UCO, welcomed all the SOEA members to UCO’s campus. Students work on building local membership and capacity by collaborating with other locals. Senator Kenneth Corn conducted the closing session which focused on getting involved in politics and education at a young age. The conference was a huge success!
